Psalms from the 2007 Prayer Summit
A Psalm summarizing God's thought to me
by Mark Claudson
I have a good king
what he has and does is enough for me
what I have and do is enough for him
It does no good to compare myself to men
for all men both young and old are desperate - feeling insecure and unvalued
My goal for this season was direction for the next, but no direction was given because worship and prayer are not a means to serving Christ, they are my connection with Christ.
Oh wretched man that I am who will save me from my idol of accomplishment?
God - for he is equally concerned with his worker as with his work.
Do you hear his voice, or is mine to loud?
What do you his servants expect? Are you not a servant?
What do you his children expect? You are his children.
What Qualities do you possess? What is your character?
You're going to take some hits - You're going to be wounded.
But he who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
So remember - God is a good king - He is enough for me, and I am enough for him.
My Psalm
by Denny Holbert
O Lord, you are majestic, good and loving
You are my Prophet, my High Priest and my King
I praise you for loving me, protecting me and leading me
Your sheep hear your voice and they follow you
Your voice, O Lord, is more powerful than the rush of many waters
Your voice do I seek in the morning
Your voice will I seek all day long
I will abide under the counsel of your voice
In your ways will I walk all the days of my life
The Warrior's Hymn
by Brad
I look around at ordinary men,
Warriors of the Lord Most High,
Champions of His love and grace
These extraordinary men
Are warriors of light against the darkness,
Champions on the front lines against a terrible foe,
They lead a host of ordinary people
Rescued by the ultimate Warrior
Who leads in victory, though the battle is fierce
These great men risk life and limb,
On the battlefield they risk all to save some
They go forth in force, they are scattered across the
Fields advancing on the darkness
The battle is fierce, the enemy has no mercy
He targets the commanders to make them fall
For he knows they will gladly fall for the One they serve,
He knows there is no holding ground on warriors of light.
I see servants of the Most High God
In much afflictions, endurance, hardship and distresses
Some are afflicted but not crushed,
Perplexed but not despairing,
Struck down but not destroyed,
Because out of the mud and mire of the battlefield
The Ultimate Warrior is the lifter of their heads
And out of the ashes of apparent defeat
Warrior after warrior rises again,
A warrior and champion of light because of the power of His might
I listen to these champions of grace sing to
Their champion with power and gratitude
And I watch amazed at these soldiers of light
Who give hope to all who see their might.
These men are like watching a host of witnesses
Around the throne of their King,
Laying down their crowns, offering their tribute, to the King of Kings
These warriors are a cloud of witnesses before their time
Of whom those who follow will speak of their might
Years from now, when the battle shifts and flows
Stories will be told of these warriors I behold.
